2. Website provision and server logs
When you access this website, your browser sends technically necessary information to the server. This may include your IP address, date and time of access, the requested address, transferred data volume, referrer, browser type and operating system. The hosting provider may process this information in server logs to deliver the website, ensure technical stability, and detect attacks or misuse.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of our website. Log data is deleted according to the retention periods configured for the server unless longer storage is necessary to investigate a security incident.
3. Product catalogue, cart, orders and payment
The cart is stored in your browser's Local Storage under the key bienenweiss-cart-v1 so that your selection is retained for a later visit. It contains product variants and quantities, but no contact or address data. It is cleared after a successfully confirmed payment. You can also remove it through the website or by deleting local website data. Storage is necessary for the cart functionality you requested pursuant to section 25(2)(2) TDDDG.
For price enquiries, the website sends product variants, quantities, the delivery method and, for shipping, the destination country to our API. For an order, we additionally process your contact details, billing and where applicable delivery address, optional order notes, legal acceptances, and order and payment status. Processing is necessary to take steps before and perform the contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and to comply with legal obligations under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
For payment processing, you are redirected to the hosted checkout of our payment provider SumUp. SumUp processes the data required for the selected payment method and sends us the payment status. More information is available in SumUp's privacy notice.
4. Contact
The contact form on the homepage currently sends no data to our web server. Submitting it prepares a message in your email application. We receive the information you entered only after you send that message from your email application.
We process enquiries to respond to your request. Where an enquiry concerns a contract or pre-contractual steps, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR is the legal basis. Otherwise, processing is based on our legitimate interest in handling enquiries under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the information once the enquiry has been conclusively handled unless statutory retention duties apply.
4a. Reporting a bee swarm
When you report a bee swarm through our form, we process the contact and location details you enter and any photos you voluntarily upload in order to forward the report to regional beekeepers and enable them to contact you. The details and images are not made available as public uploads.
With your explicit consent, our server sends the report through the Telegram Bot API to a closed Telegram chat for regional beekeepers. Members receive the submitted details and images to assess whether someone can collect the swarm and, where appropriate, contact you directly. Telegram receives the details and images but not directly the IP address you used to access our page. Processing in third countries cannot be ruled out. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. More information is available in Telegram's privacy policy.
We delete swarm reports stored by us as soon as they are no longer needed for processing and no statutory retention duties or legitimate reasons require further storage.
5. Consent and local storage
The website does not set cookies for its own functions. In addition to the cart described in section 3, your external-media choice is stored in your browser's Local Storage under the versioned key bienenweiss-consent-v1 The entry contains the version of the consent request and whether you allowed or declined external media. This information is not sent to our server. The entry remains in your browser until you change your choice or delete local website data.
Local storage of your choice is necessary to apply the setting you selected and is based on section 25(2)(2) TDDDG. External providers access information on your device only after your consent under section 25(1) TDDDG where the relevant service uses such technologies.
You can change your choice at any time through ‘Privacy settings’ in the footer. Withdrawal applies for the future; external content already loaded is then removed from the page.
6. Sensor displays from Wolf Waagen
We embed live displays for our sensor locations as external content from app.wolf-waagen.de The provider is Wolf Waagen GmbH & Co. KG, Hagendorf 15, 92726 Waidhaus, Germany. Displays load only after you consent to the ‘External media’ category.
After consent, your browser connects directly to Wolf Waagen to retrieve the display. Technically necessary connection data is sent to the provider. This may include your IP address, the time and address of the request, referrer information, and browser and operating-system details. Any further processing by Wolf Waagen depends on its technical implementation and privacy information.
The legal basis for loading the external displays is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Without consent, the website shows placeholders and does not connect to app.wolf-waagen.de.
More information is available in Wolf Waagen's privacy notice.
7. Analysis chart from Sinsoma
On the ‘Modern beekeeping’ page, we embed a honey DNA analysis chart as external content from proben.sinsoma.com The provider is Sinsoma GmbH, 6176 Völs, Austria. The chart loads only after you consent to the ‘External media’ category.
After consent, your browser connects directly to Sinsoma. Technically necessary connection data is sent to the provider. This may include your IP address, the time and address of the request, referrer information, and browser and operating-system details. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Without consent, the website shows a placeholder and does not connect to proben.sinsoma.com.
More information is available in Sinsoma's privacy policy.
8. OpenStreetMap location map
The contact section offers an interactive location map. Leaflet renders the map locally, while map tiles are retrieved from tile.openstreetmap.org.
The map, and therefore the connection to OpenStreetMap, loads only after you consent to the ‘External media’ category.
The map tiles are provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. Your browser sends technically necessary connection data to the provider when retrieving tiles. This may include your IP address, the time and address of the request, referrer information, and browser and operating-system details. Tiles may be served through a global network of cache servers. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. More information is available in the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
9. Fonts, images and other external services
The fonts, logos and product images used on this website are served from our own servers. Loading them does not connect to an external font or image provider. We currently use no web analytics, advertising tracking or embedded YouTube videos.
Non-embedded links to DNA results and to Apple Maps, Google Maps and OpenStreetMap are ordinary external links. Simply visiting our website does not establish a connection to those providers. If you click such a link, you leave our website and the respective provider's privacy terms apply.
10. Recipients and processors
Hosting and IT service providers may process personal data on our behalf for technical operation. SumUp receives the data necessary to process payments. Other recipients receive data only where necessary to perform the contract, legally permitted or required, or where you have consented.
11. Retention period
